Welcome to the world Baby Maya

In our house Maya has to have Baby in front of it. She isn't just Maya. She's BABY Maya. My boys have adored her even while she was in Mommy's tummy. We've even had some funny moments before Maya even made her appearance.

Here's one of those moments:

Somewhere around 20 weeks I scheduled an ultrasound to find out whether our third baby would be a girl or boy (and to check on the health of the baby of course!). We decided to take both our boys since it's really a once in a lifetime experience for them. Brian's Mom, and her Mom too! So we had 6 people plus the ultrasound operator in the room. Talk about excitement! Up until this point Connor had hoped for a baby sister. Aaron was still denying that he had ever even been in my tummy, EVER!

So the technician found the baby and first we looked at her head. Then it hit Connor! He knew!

He suddenly declared, "It's a boy! He has no hair!!!"

Aaron was just focused on staring at my bare belly. Wondering why I had to pull up my shirt.

Great Grandma really wanted me to have a girl. So she must have asked 100 times whether I was going to have a girl or not. Even after this appointment!

Maya finally made it into the world, and the boys couldn't be happier. They are in love with her. They are excited to teach her everything.

Connor has made one demand though. He asked, "Mom why can't Dad take care of the baby sometimes? Why is it always your job??"

Breastfeeding is a hard concept for a 5 year old to grasp I guess!

Here are some pictures of Maya's Birth on February 8, 2012 and some we took when she was 7 days old.
