The King, Queen and Minions

So spring has sprung...literally.  In my household it's not always a fun thing.  Every one of my kids, and my husband, suffer from allergies as the weather changes.  It's no wonder though, when everything outside literally covered in yellow pollen.  Everything has a tinge of yellow to it this time of year.  The other day I took Maya down the slide at a park, and the backside of my jeans turned from bright blue to bright yellow!

The boys have turned from hating to have their noses blown to begging for me to blow them.  That has made it a little easier, now that they've realized that it helps to blow your nose.

Connor has been learning about being sick and that bugs are in your body when you are.  So now he has convinced himself that there is a "King booger" in his nose, and if only he could blow it out no more boogers would be created.  He believes that the King booger creates all other boogers.

I have explained the usefulness of boogers, but it's no use.  He has since gotten his brother on the King booger bandwagon and they always ask me after blowing if they got the King, and I regretfully say no.  Then they say, oh that must have been the Queen!  Aaron asked me about the other stuff that isn't the Queen or King, and I decided, hey - this isn't hurting anyone right - so I told him they were the Minions.

Every day my poor boys have to fight their battle against the King, Queen and all their Allergy-driven Minions   Someday they'll win the fight, but for now, we will just keep on blowing!
